please respond to the following discussion post as a peer commenting on the post.A recurring issue at my current place of employment is the continuous COVID-19 cases among staff members. Our office location has been back to full capacity since this past June. Early November, the state of Missouri issued a mandate stating that once a person has been fully vaccinated, they are not required to wear a mask when out in public. My workplace now enforces that mandate and only requires masks in close contact areas when working with clients. Despite the masks mandates and over 90% of staff being vaccinated, we are still seeing many staff members test positive for COVID-19.

In order to address this issue, I would develop a qualitative study by tracking the sample population of all full-time and part-time employees who currently work in the office. I would then conduct an anonymous survey as my study method that contains information to gain results on: how often employees wash hands/use hand sanitizer, if the staff member has contracted COVID-19 in the past 3 months, if the staff member is fully vaccinated, if the staff member is often exposed to COVID-19, how often employee comes into work while feeling ill, and if the staff member continues to wear mask out in public.

After getting the results of the surveys, I would be able to see if there are correlations between the habits and reasoning of staff members who contracted COVID-19 vs those who have not. Once finding these trends, I will then be able to understand the needs of certain employees who continue to contract COVID-19. Based on the results, I can then determine if my workplace needs to enforce more handwashing/hand sanitizer use, urge employees to work from home more, or even encourage employees to get vaccinated or wear a mask once entering the building to ultimately decrease the COVID-19 cases.
