Feel free to add to them to make the answers have more to them. I really just need help corporation the info into the speech and making it sound educated. As I stated, add whatever answers you want. What I wrote is the basics so just so you don’t say something that will contradict anything said in the class before
Also will be attaching my list of goals; first assignment, and a short history of me
Post your speech to the discussion forum by Sunday of Week 8 so others can benefit from your experience and perspective. Don’t forget to respond to at least two of your classmates’ posts to provide them with feedback and support.

Kadedra:My academic journey wasn’t an easy one. I struggled with what I actually wanted to do for so long. I was the student that bounced from major to major until finally finding an academic path that suited me. After receiving my associate’s degree, I took a year plus break. I honestly had all intention of it being a forever break. I had a good job, everything in my life was going well. Although, everything seemed to be going well I realized I became very comfortable and wasn’t truly happy with my current career. My mother also believed there was more in store for me I just needed to pursue my bachelor’s degree. So, I decided it was time for better. It was time for better opportunities and it was time for a better life. All of these thoughts occurred in the midst of a pandemic. Maybe being home all the time forces you to deal with the thoughts you push to the side daily. So, after months of research and looking into different schools I came across UMGC. UMGC appealed to me the most in what they offered as in programs, scholarships, options of being fully online, and so much more. The first thing I did was look through their programs. I came across the communication studies degree and compared the curriculum to the courses I took when I received my associates degree. Everything seemed similar and I knew that was the best option for me. I then looked at scholarships. Once I read about the completion scholarship I definitely knew UMGC was the place for me. So, one night I submitted my application and all the transcripts needed. I did this without saying anything to anyone. I wanted to make sure everything went as planned. I received my acceptance and maybe a week or two later confirmation that I received a scholarship. I was ecstatic. It felt like God heard my prayers and found a way to make it happen. I was blessed with the opportunity to continue my education and worry less about how it was going to be paid for. Everyone around me was very supportive. I feel like having a strong support system is what every college student needs. Pursuing a higher education can get stressful. You need family or friends around you that will support you in all you do. I am thankful for my circle of loved ones that continued to push me and see the potential that I couldn’t see at times. My journey isn’t over and I am happy with how everything has been going so far. Many of the goals I set for myself at the beginning of the semester I achieved. I learned that I am where I am supposed to be. As I continue this journey I hope to maintain good grades and get closer to the finish line. I hope to make more connections that will benefit me in my career choice and my academic journey. Once I finish I hope to look back and see that all the ups and downs were worth it because the end goal was success.
Emmanuel:I chose UMGC because it was an online school that fit my learning needs. I like the way that there are weekly assignments and that there is a ton of support from the teachers as well as the advisors. At first I thought that I may not be successful here but after talking to my teachers and my advisor over this semester I have changes my mind. I have learned so much about myself and my career goals as well. It is important for me to use my time management skills with this format of school but it provides me with so much free time. There is so much support offered at UMGC and all of the staff wants to see you succeed. It is also helpful to have outside support to help you achieve your goals and keep you on track when you don’t have any motivation. UMGC has made It possible for me to continue working, go to school and still spend time with my friends and family. Family is one thing that is very important to me and I am grateful to be able to spend more time with them and less time in an actual classroom.
