Each student will write a 5-page religious/literary critique of the novel, The Life of Pi to be the final assessment of the course.
Paper is to be double-spaced, 1 inch margins, Times New Roman, 12-point font. The paper should begin with a brief summary and analysis of the novel (no more than 1/3 of paper) that identifies the literary genre (with examples) and summarizes the main plot information. Next, students should consult course material to analyze the text from a religious perspective. How did the presentation of the culture/religion in the book compare to what was learned in class? Was the book able to give the student a deeper understanding of the culture/religion in question? What larger religious themes did the text explore?
