6. What has been studied or determined already? Literature reviews discuss what has already been determined by discussing past research, that way they can address a need or gap in the literature with their study.

9. What are the research questions that the study is based on? What is being explored/investigated?

10. How did the researchers collect the data (e.g., procedures)? What data was collected and why? (e.g., population groups)

11. How did the researchers analyze the data? (Start big, quantitative or qualitative, then dive in to direct methods: what subset of quantitative or qualitative?)

12. In your own words, how does the way in which researchers approach data analysis (research approach) help answer their research questions and fulfill the purpose of the study?

13. What are the results of the study (what they found)? What did the authors learn overall?

14. What are the educational implications of this study? (Note: Implications are suggestions/recommendations for how the research findings can be applied to policies, practices, different theories, or future research studies)

15. What is the significance of this study? Why does this research matter? (Note: Significance is the overall importance of the study. Why should we care? These are broader assertions and can be related to implications. Why do the implications matter?)

16. What are future directions this research could take? (e.g., different populations, different research questions, different data sets, etc. Be specific.)
