Task 9: Final Project

Final Course Project – Initial Work

Welcome to the end! Hopefully you have learned new communication skills and have learned to overcome your nerves as you presented either in front of the class or on camera each week. All of your hard work has finally paid off! There is just one more speech to go, and it’s on a topic of your choice! Welcome to the final project.

Review the Final Project Assignment Sheet.

Choose a topic that you will enjoy presenting. It can be anything from an informational speech about a hobby you have to a persuasive speech on saving the dolphins – the choice is yours!

In the final Task file, you will create a file folder titled with your name and Task 9, and it should include:

(1) PowerPoint presentation that you will use in this week’s lesson

(please leave the PowerPoint blank at this time)

(2) All images that you will use in your final project’s PowerPoint

(3) Plan for an 8-11 minute presentation.

(4) An APA formatted outline that contains

– the introduction to your presentation

– events in your outline

– the conclusion to your presentation.

Zip the file, and then upload your work to Moodle.

Online students – your assignment is due by Sunday night at 11:59 p.m. EST

On-ground students – your assignment is due before you report to class.

Final Project Presentations

The instructions for this part of the module are divided into two sections: one for on-campus students and one for online students.

Review the Final Project Assignment Sheet.

On-campus students –open your Task 9 zip file, prepare your final speech, and deliver it in class. Your final speech should be 8-11 minutes in length.

Online students – this week will be the same as past weeks. Upload your preparation materials to Task 9 and your final project to Lesson 9.
