Learning how to identify and appraise reputable information is key in evidence-based practice, as basing one’s practice on evidence that is not reputable leads to flawed, and often dangerous practices. This has been seen recently with misinformation about vaccinations making its way to widespread platform, propagated mostly by individuals without medical or research backgrounds.
It is important to utilize scholarly databases and other forms of reputable information when gathering evidence to support, change, or refute how practice (your intervention) is done. In order to ensure that you adequately address the PICO question, you will spend the next two weeks locating and appraising evidence, including specific types of peer-reviewed journal articles, reputable websites, and expert feedback.
