Reply 1: Hello Everyone! My name is A’Myrya and I am from Erie Pennsylvania. I have been with SNHU for 2 1/2 years now and the experience has been great. I am excited that I will be graduating at the end of March! I am currently studying Business Administration with a concentration in entrepreneurship. I plan to run my own business in the future. My interest outside of school include, hanging out with family, artistic activities (painting and drawing), watching movies, cooking, and traveling.

I think the importance of liberal arts is to not give students just one area of study but to help students explore and study a broad range of subjects that deal with complexity, diversity, and change. With the liberal arts, students will advance in skills, such as critical thinking, communication, creative problem solving, self- expression, innovative research, and a lifelong of learning skills that will allow them to work in many different career fields (Bogart, 2020). There are many ways liberal arts will fit into my business administration degree. The liberal arts courses will help me synthesize information, connect the dots, and think logically. This is important as a future business owner, I will have to make a lot of decisions that can either make or break my business.

I have taken a few liberal art courses at a second institution I use to attend. The courses include a humanities elective (theater), a social science elective (introduction to history), a fine art elective (digital media), and a few communication electives. Here at SNHU, I have taken a few more liberal art courses. The courses include, applied social science, perspectives in humanities, biology, psychology, sociology, anthropology, and perspectives in natural science. The area of the liberal arts that interest me the most is the arts. I have a passion for business and art. I chose business as my career focus because there where more areas of business I have an interest in working in verses art. I like visual art the most, but I could only see myself working in one visual art area (photography). Liberal art seems to be an interesting course, I am excited to learn about it during the next 8 weeks!

My name is Lisa Griffitts. I live in Bradenton, FL. I am pursuing a bachelors in business administration. My interests are exercising, outdoor activities and reading. Liberal arts consist of sciences, arts, and humanities. In high school I took history. I enjoy learning about history. History is what everyone needs to know that teaches us about why things are happening today. What I use most in my life is psychology. It helps me to understand why people act the way they do. By understanding more about psychology, I can improve my decision making based on understanding past behavior to better predict future behavior. So basically, humanities and social science interests me the most when it comes to liberal arts. Studying liberal arts can help people to develop the critical thinking aned communication skills needed to succeed in today’s economy.
