.40 years ago Saudi Arabia didn’t have theaters and art was prohibited due to the control that was caused by religious people  who for some reasons thought that art was bad for the nation. They controlled the country. It was very difficult to show or express your art because that could get you in trouble. On the other hand, This built a curiosity for me to know what art is all about, so i started searching and learning about it through internet and tv. In addition,  whenever I traveled outside SA, first place I look for was a movie theater, and every time I go to the movies I not only got amazed by  the movies and the performance of actors but also by the design of the auditorium space  and how it made me felt. years later, I decided to travel to the USA to seek better education for my self and since my scholarship limited the majors I could choose, theater and performance studies was not available at that time, so I thought of a major that could get me closer to my passion. I spent days and days thinking of what among the available majors will connect me with my passion and , so I looked through the lists of the available majors and I found architecture and design. I thought with skill set I get from architecture program i could use to design movie theaters and sets. so I postponed my dream to major in Theater studies for my masters and chose to pursue designing for my bachelor study so I can have the ability to not only design but to have a deeper and batter understanding of theater. after I graduated from the architecture school with the degree architecture and environmental design. I realized now this is the time to finally follow my passion and study theater academically.
